Pacific Crest Diagnostics Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 24, 2026
Pacific Crest Diagnostics is a mobile application provided by NAS Automotive Technology, the public-facing business name of Nyx and Selene Automotive Technology.
This Privacy Policy explains how Pacific Crest Diagnostics handles information when you use the app. This policy applies specifically to the Pacific Crest Diagnostics mobile application and is separate from the general NAS Automotive Technology website privacy policy.
Information the App Collects
Pacific Crest Diagnostics reads and analyzes vehicle emissions and diagnostic data from a connected vehicle. This information may include, but is not limited to:
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Diagnostic trouble codes
- Emissions-related diagnostic information
- Readiness monitor information
- Sensor and vehicle data available through the vehicle’s diagnostic systems
The app may allow the user to optionally enter a vehicle license plate number. If entered, the license plate may appear on the results displayed to the user or on a user-generated report.
Pacific Crest Diagnostics does not require users to create an account with NAS Automotive Technology.
How Vehicle Data Is Used
Pacific Crest Diagnostics uses vehicle data to analyze emissions-related information and help the user assess whether the vehicle is likely to pass or fail an official emissions inspection.
The app processes vehicle data for the purpose of displaying scan results, diagnostic information, and user-requested reports.
Data Storage
Pacific Crest Diagnostics does not save vehicle scan data after the scan session and results screen are no longer active. Once the user leaves the results screen, the scan information is discarded by the app.
If the user chooses to export or share a PDF report, the app creates the report at the user’s request and provides it to the user through the sharing method selected by the user. Pacific Crest Diagnostics does not retain the exported PDF after it has been shared. Once the user exports or shares a PDF, that copy is controlled by the user and by any application, service, or person with whom the user shares it.
Advertising
Pacific Crest Diagnostics displays advertisements through Google AdMob.
Advertising services may collect or use information such as device identifiers, advertising identifiers, app interaction information, approximate location inferred from network information, or similar data as permitted by the user’s device settings, app permissions, and applicable law.
NAS Automotive Technology does not sell vehicle scan data, VINs, license plate information, or user-entered vehicle information.
No-Ads Purchase
Pacific Crest Diagnostics offers an optional purchase to remove advertisements from the app. This purchase is handled by the applicable app store, such as Google Play or the Apple App Store.
NAS Automotive Technology does not receive or store the user’s full payment-card information for this purchase. Purchase processing, refunds, and payment account information are handled by the applicable app store.
Sharing of Information
NAS Automotive Technology does not sell the information collected by Pacific Crest Diagnostics.
Pacific Crest Diagnostics may share information only in the following limited situations:
- When the user chooses to export or share a report
- When necessary for app functionality, such as through third-party services used for advertising or app-store purchases
- When required by law, legal process, or government request
