Turn emissions data into a practical pre-inspection assessment

Pacific Crest Diagnostics reads and analyzes emissions-related information directly from a vehicle. Instead of simply displaying raw diagnostic values, the app is designed to help the user understand what those values mean for the vehicle's emissions readiness and condition.

The goal is simple: identify problems that may cause an inspection failure and provide an informed assessment of whether the vehicle is likely to pass or fail an applicable official emissions inspection before the vehicle is taken for testing.

Mobile diagnostics

Use a phone or tablet instead of a dedicated PC

The Android version of Pacific Crest Diagnostics is available now for Android phones and tablets. An Apple version for iPhone and iPad is planned for release on the App Store later in September 2026.

Pacific Crest does not require an expensive PC-based diagnostic workstation. For vehicle owners, small shops, fleets, and mobile technicians, the computing hardware can be something as simple as a compatible mobile device. For larger operations, the same approach can make it easier to put diagnostic capability in the hands of multiple users without purchasing a dedicated computer for every location.

What the assessment means

Useful guidance — not an inspection guarantee

Pacific Crest Diagnostics is intended to provide an informed assessment based on the emissions and diagnostic information available from the vehicle. It does not perform or replace the official emissions inspection, and it cannot guarantee the result of that inspection.

The official inspection result remains authoritative.
